THE NEW COSMOS IN THE AVANTGARDE-COLLECTION

The fascination of the zodiac observed and interpreted by the ancient Egyptians and the inhabitants of Babylon are captured on a watch dial. Alexander Shorokhov is presenting this new watch model „Babylonian“ within his AVANTGARDE- collection. A whole cosmos with celestial bodies and signs of the zodiac is shining under the gently vaulted sapphire glass framed by a solid stainless steel case.

The central element of this timekeeper is a hand engraved movement featuring a special polishing of sun beams at the front side. A grooved ornamental part at the horizontal axis in waves’ shape represents the water of the rivers Euphrates and Tigris. A little sun and moon are standing out against the movement which is encircled by a glimmering purple-blue MOP ring. The 12 zodiac signs decorate the ring which rises by 1,5 mm above the dark blue outer ring. At this night-blue stripe with golden stars the silver-white figures are leaping to the eyes. The watch hands are coloured in deep blue.

Here, the typical large figure “60“ is replacing the “12“ as for all other watches of the AVANTGARDE-collection expressing another perception of time – the “60” standing for the
end and the beginning – regardless of any measurement.

The special quality of the outside expands to its inner part – the precise hand winding movement AS. 2609. All mechanical parts are very decorative – the engraved and polished bridges and levers and the screws of blued steel. The sapphire glass on either side allows having a look at this fine movement. The logo of the manufacturer is decorating the barrel and train wheel bridges. The “Babylonian“ is a piece claiming eternity. Unfortunately, it will not be available, forever. Its edition is limited to 500 pcs.
