Functionality Meets Design: The Artful Date Display Redefined

For the first time, Alexander Shorokhoff introduces a chronograph featuring a Big Date function, a distinctive date display innovation. The new model, “Big Date Chrono,” showcases the date through two separate, larger digits positioned directly at the 12 o’clock mark.

Unlike traditional date displays that feature a single digit, the “Big Date Chrono” allows for precise representation of the date, showing numbers from 01 to 31. This larger display not only enhances functionality but also adds a unique aesthetic and a sportier vibe to the watch.

The mechanics of the “Big Date Chrono” necessitate a sophisticated movement to synchronize and accurately move the two digits. The Alexander Shorokhoff watch manufactory employs the reliable Swiss automatic chronograph movement Dubois-Dépraz DD4500. This movement offers exceptional precision, along with a stopwatch function and a luminous mother-of-pearl hour display at the 6 o’clock position. Additionally, it features a power reserve of 42 hours, complemented by a hand-engraved rotor.

The overall design of the new automatic model is both avant-garde and sporty. In its first version, the orange center of the dial beautifully complements the orange calf leather strap. A second color variant showcases striking yellow and green accents. The two subdials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions are dynamically designed, featuring sporty, square numerals, while the hands exhibit a distinctive shape that emphasizes the watch’s modern aesthetic.

In summary, the “Big Date Chrono” not only offers practical readability and functionality but also appeals visually to watch enthusiasts. Collectors will appreciate the exclusivity of this limited edition, with only 30 pieces available worldwide.
