Last year, Alexander Shorokhoff unveiled his first chronograph featuring a “Big Date” function—a unique type of date display. The date is shown as two separate, large digits in a window directly at the 12 o’clock position.

Following its successful debut and the high demand for creative watches featuring technical sophistication, here comes its impressively colorful successor: The BIG DATE MOP chronograph captivates not only with its avant-garde design and color palette, but also with its sophisticated technology.

Instead of a single digit, as found on many traditional date displays, the “Big Date MOP” displays the numbers 01 through 31, allowing for a more precise representation of the date. This larger display is not only functional but also gives the watch a distinctive aesthetic and a sportier look.

The mechanics behind the “Big Date MOP” require a more complex movement to drive the two numerals in sync and with precision. The Alexander Shorokhoff watch manufactory uses the precise and reliable Swiss Dubois-Dépraz DD4500 automatic chronograph movement.

In addition to its high precision, the model features an off-center seconds hand at 3 o’clock, an off-center hour counter at 6 o’clock, a stopwatch and totalizer function at 9 o’clock, and a 42-hour power reserve with a rotor hand-engraved and finished by the manufacturer.

The design of the new automatic model is both avant-garde and sporty. The individual minutes are marked in a variety of vibrant colors on the outer ring of the dial. The center section, as well as the right and left sides of the dial, are made of exquisite mother-of-pearl.

The darker mother-of-pearl areas, in particular, shimmer in the light and bring out the surrounding colors in a fascinating way—a true play of colors.

The genuine leather strap in an elegant petrol blue harmonizes perfectly with the shades of the dial. The hands are deliberately painted white to ensure optimal readability.
